  1. Influenced by West coast jazz, in the s composer Antonio Carlos Jobim helped to form Bossa Nova, a new music that blended together gentle Brazilian rhythms and melodies with cool-toned improvising; the rhythms are usually played lightly as with beats 1, 4, 7, 11, and 14 being accented during every two-bars (played in 8/4 time).
  2. This CD is like a cubist painting -- it takes the basic elements of classic Bossa Nova sounds, and twists/remixes/re-composes them into a new whole. The original is still recognizable, but the remix is a new work of art with its own twist.
